Kids say...

It was 45 F yesterday, so we had to take advantage of it and play outside!

making volcanoes!

One of my favorite corners of my home:  Plain Ol' Grammy, tiny vases from POG, a bird from Kathy, a vase from Amanda, and lego wheels...framing my favorite view: boys outside.

Seamus:

My dice are running down the hallway, and so am I!

Can I have more smarsh-mallows?

I don't want to go to bed, I just want to sleep in my bed.

(after being scolded) You're so pretty, Mommy....just SO pretty.

In six days, when the baby comes, he's going to be so key-ute.

Luke:

I called Dad so loud that he could hear me as clear as morning!

(crying) You ALWAYS make me learn things!

I found out I liked those carrots in my chewing process.

There was an excess of apples.  So I ate them.

Mom!!  My brother is doing stuff he shouldn't be doing....like eating stuff!

I have never had anyone go to such trouble...

to give me flowers.
This bouquet traveled over 100 kilometers to sit on my kitchen counter.
Thank-you Kathy, you made my day!!
Every time I look at them, smell them, I am reminded of you - and how wonderful it is to be loved!

We got baby-sitters!!!

We are ecstatic!  Carl and Derek are ecstatic too...on the inside.

We ate lots of great things, starting with a bottle of Barberra from Tobin James, ending with gelatti on Corydon, and centered with a fabulous array of pastas from Cafe Carlo.  We talked like people from Winnipeg (real estate gurus are we), we walked like people from Santa Cruz (crossing the street halfway, standing on the yellow line waiting for traffic to clear on the other half), we ate like people from California (start the meal off right with a bottle of wine!).  We talked and we walked and we ate, and WE HAD BABY-SITTERS!!!  Raise your hand if you remember being able to finish three sentences in a row...I can now raise my hand!
The perfect evening.  The perfect double-date.
*sigh* It's good to be with friends.

oh what fun!

We went to the Children's Museum in Winnipeg on Saturday afternoon with some of our dear friends: Carl and Kathy, and their children Joel, Kezia, Asha, and Elena.  It was SO FUN.  It was good for the kids to let off some steam, run, yell; and it was good for us parents to visit with each other, and watch the kids have fun (and I'll admit, I kind of dominated the suction tube game - that game rocks!).  Every now and then I have to sigh with contentment in my life.  I have a wonderful husband, two delightful sons, and friends - oh my friends! - they're the best anyone could ever ask for, and not least of all, we have opportunities to PLAY, together.  It's a good life.
No, it's a great life.

What marvelous weather we're having!

Cutest baby in the world, taken by one of the sweetest lenses...50mm, 1.4f.  We visited Winnipeg to look at some camera equipment after our jaunt over to Steinbach on Saturday, and I got to drool over some lenses.  Okay, Seamus and I both drooled :)

Taking Heppner family photos out in the park behind their house.  While the family was getting ready I spent a few minutes getting my camera ready, photographing my boys.  Seamus is sound asleep in his stroller.
So just these two boys got photographed.  Aren't they handsome?

Developed!

Film
Oh film.
You make my Pentax jump
through flaming hoops of glory,
Make me proud.
Make me remember.

Sue Sorensen in her office at CMU.  This was the day I did the author's photo for A Large Harmonium, her first novel.

Wieners!

Visiting Norman and Ann in Rosenort.  Norman and Ann are in our care group.

Playing in the fountain at Bethel Heritage Park on one of our last really hot days.

A surprise photo!  My first belly shot - from my first pregnancy!  The beginning of the roll was from four years ago.

Baby Luke on the left,       Baby Seamus on the right!
Same roll of film.

Baby Luke - a little older.
